CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

HGTV star Carter Oosterhouse has partnered with Lowe’s Heroes and Rebuilding Together to reconstruct a block over a two-day period in Charlotte’s Cherry neighborhood.

More than 100 Lowe’s employees will volunteer and repair six homes in the neighborhood and install a new playground at Cherry Park on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4.

The Rebuilt-a-Block will provide roof repairs, porch replacement, carpet installation, new paint and handrail installations to the homes.

Oosterhouse is carpenter on HGTV and founder of Carter’s Kids who will lead the construction of the playground.

“For several years, Lowe’s has partnered with Rebuilding Together and Carter’s Kids to rebuild and revitalize communities and playgrounds throughout the country.  We’re thrilled this project is helping families in the Cherry Neighborhood located in Charlotte; right in our back yard,” said Joan Higginbotham, Lowe’s community relations director.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is Oct. 4 at 12 p.m.
