CHARLOTTE - Storms are trying to form to the east of Charlotte, but have not been successful yet.
Eastern counties may see a thunderstorm Sunday afternoon. There will be a big surge of heat this week in the viewing area.
Temperatures Monday will reach close to 90 degrees. There will be more humidity on Tuesday that will make temperatures feel like they are in the 90s. Rain will be possible both days, but the best storm chances will be in the mountains.
Rain will get closer on Wednesday, but the best possibility of rain is Thursday. Top weather threats are heavy rain and lightning.
After Thursday’s rain, temperatures will start to cool down. High temperatures will be in the middle 70s as next weekend approaches.
