As part of our Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, TV64 will broadcast the Hispanic College Quiz on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6. The purpose of the show is to encourage the appreciation of Hispanic/Latino heritage by all people, through an entertaining quiz show format.
The series is designed to generate a high level of excitement and enthusiasm by featuring Hispanic college students from around the country in a healthy competition that showcases their knowledge and skills relative to Hispanic culture and history. Contestants can win scholarship money toward their college education.
The show is hosted by Alfonso Gutierrez, co-anchor of the 5 p.m. newscast and a reporter for Telemundo Chicago. He is an Emmy award winner for exceptional accomplishments within news.
Hispanic College Quiz has aired in national syndication for the past four years in the top 125 markets in the country as a 4-part weekly Hispanic Heritage Month series.
