1 dead after car hits CATS bus in northeast Charlotte, police say

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department has confirmed one person is dead after a Nissan crashed into the back of a CATS bus in northeast Charlotte.
Police said it happened Saturday around 11:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of North Tryon Street near Sugar Creek Road.
They said the driver of the Nissan, who died, may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
No one from the bus had any major injuries.
