IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — 1 person hurt after small plane crashes into Lake Norman, officials say
A pilot was hurt after their small plane crashed into Lake Norman Saturday afternoon, officials said.
The single-engine A1B plane crashed three miles northwest of Lake Norman Airpark, near Davidson and north of Highway 150.

The pilot was the only person on board and taken to a local hospital for their injuries. They are expected to be OK.
Channel 9 was there with rescue crews as they pulled the plane to shore. You could see the plane overturned and the wheels sticking up out of the water.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
