CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person was shot Tuesday afternoon in north Charlotte, according to Medic.
Paramedics were called to the Crossroads Shopping Center on West Sugar Creek Road, where they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. They transported the person to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the victim's injuries are non-life-threatening.
Channel 9 spoke to three eyewitnesses who saw the shooting unfold.
They said a man was involved in robbery at a wireless store in the shopping center. He ran outside and tried to rob or carjack a red car, according to the witness.
Witnesses told Channel 9 that they heard up to 10 shots were fired inside a red car that was located at the shopping center.

The gunman ran across the parking lot with a cellphone in one hand and a gun in the other hand, flagged down a person in another car and drove away, witnesses said.
"He was running so fast you couldn't see nothing but smoke from his feet. He had to be in his 20s cause he was so fast," said witness Sherry Russell.
CMPD said they do not have the gunman in custody.
No further information has been released.
