A man was shot twice Wednesday afternoon at the Quail Woods apartments on Laurel Lane in Gastonia, police said.
Officers said they responded after the man ran to a nearby apartment looking for help.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition. He underwent surgery and officers hope to speak with him Thursday to determine what led to the shooting.
No arrests have been made.
