12-foot great white 'Hilton' being tracked off Myrtle Beach coast

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — A 12-foot great white shark has been swimming off the coast of Myrtle Beach for the past several weeks.

The OCEARCH website is tracking the shark, appropriately named Hilton.

He was first tagged off the coast of Hilton Head in March, and measures 12 feet, 5 inches and weighs more than 1,300 pounds.

The OCEARCH website has a short bio about the massive fish:

Hilton was caught off the coast of Hilton Head, SC during the Lowcountry Expedition. Hilton was named after the local community who has graciously welcomed us. Hilton was also tagged on the anniversary of Lydia.
