12 face drug charges in Lincoln County undercover operation

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — An undercover operation in Lincoln County this week netted 12 people for various drug charges, authorities said.

The operation targeted street-level drug dealers who were selling methamphetamine and prescription pills.

The investigation took six months, during which suspected dealers sold mostly meth to undercover detectives.

Two people charged have not been located and are still wanted.

Those arrested are:

  • Douglas Wayne Cobb, aka "Wayneo", 50, formerly of Lincolnton
  • Jerry Norman Vancise, Jr., 40, Cedar Grove Church Rd. Vale
  • Sharon Elaine Hart, 44, Rockhill Ln. Lincolnton
  • Crystal Engle Hart, 45, Rockhill Ln. Lincolnton
  • James Norman Merriam, 39, Swanson Rd. Crouse
  • Brandon Stewart Shronce, 33
  • Bobby Eugene Smith, 39, of Lincolnton
  • Donald Joseph Gaul, 52, Clarence Beam Rd
  • Sandra Lynn Gaul, 46, Clarence Beam Rd
  • Justin Ryan Williams, 28, of Rosehill Drive, Lincolnton

Two are currently wanted and have not been served.  Those subjects are:

  • Steven LG Leatherman, 32, Green Street, Lincolnton
  • Kendra Michelle McCombs, 27, of Stoney Creek Drive, Lincolnton
