WAXHAW, N.C. — Police are investigating a possible attempted kidnapping Friday night in Union County.
A 14-year-old told police he was walking home around 9:15 p.m. near Exbury Gardens in Waxhaw when a man pulled up next to him in a car and demanded he get in.

The victim said he ran away and called police after he made it home.
The suspect may be driving a green Toyota Corolla, police said.
Officials said a witness reported seeing a dark-colored car speeding north on Waxhaw-Marvin Road around the same time, and nearly hit the bridge.
