18-year-old killed in Alexander Co. wreck, police say

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. — State troopers said a car wreck in Taylorsville killed an 18-year-old man.

Officers said he was riding with another teen on Rocky Face Church Road in Alexander County Saturday night.

The Hickory Daily Record reported the car went off an embankment, hitting several trees and then caught fire.

Aaron Dixon died in the crash.

Troopers said neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, but the driver may have been speeding.
