19-year-old woman shot in Conover

CONOVER, N.C. — A woman is in the hospital fighting for her life after a Conover man shot her, according to police.

Mee See is behind bars facing attempted first-degree murder. The victim, 19-year-old Crystal Lor, is at Carolinas Medical Center Main.

"It's a quiet neighborhood," neighbor Steve Setzer said. "We never have any trouble around here and now this. To wake up to it, it's shocking."

Setzer told Eyewitness News he woke up to crime scene tape and police cars at the home across the street on Prestige Heights Drive. The man who lives there, 26-year-old ee, had already been taken into custody.

Police said he shot his girlfriend in the head in his neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and somehow she ended up 4 miles away near the Dollar Tree.

They haven't said what led up to the shooting or released a motive.

"What's the world coming to?" Debra Cupp said. "That's sad. Christmas time. It's a giving spirit not a shooting spirit."
Cupp is worried about the victim's family as she fights for her life in the hospital.

"I think that's just terrible," Cupp said.

The neighborhood is praying that she makes a swift recovery, and they're praying for an end to senseless violence.
"Definitely hope she pulls through," Setzer said.

See is expected in court Monday.
