2 Charlotte 7-Elevens robbed within hours overnight

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating two 7-Eleven robberies Friday morning that happened within two hours of each other.

Officers were first called just before 1 a.m. to the gas station on Sam Roper Drive near Alexandriana Road in north Charlotte.

Authorities said a man armed with a gun robbed the convenience store. No arrests have been made in that case.

Just before 3 a.m., two employees inside a 7-Eleven on South Tryon Street at Westinghouse Boulevard were robbed by two people, police said. Investigators said at least one of the robbers was armed with a gun.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Police have not said if anyone has been arrested in the second robbery.

Channel 9 has contacted police to see if the two robberies are connected but officers believe they are not.
