CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools went on lockdown Wednesday, according to officials.
CMS officials told Channel 9 that Independence High School and Northeast Middle School both went on lockdown around 11:30 a.m. due to police activity in the area.
Channel 9 was told that the lockdown was lifted around noon.
Images from Channel 9 Skyzoom showed a heavy police presence near the ball field at Independence High School, where it appeared that officers had at least one person in custody.
Channel 9 is asking why the person is in custody and if police are searching for anyone else.
