HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A husband and wife died in a three-car wreck last week that shut down a busy Huntersville intersection for hours, officials said.
Two other people were taken to the hospital after the Nov. 18 wreck at Old Statesville and Sam Furr roads.
Family described Ted and Peggy Cislo as friendly, loving people who enjoyed spending time with their 3-year-old and 1-year-old granddaughters. They took a genuine interest in the lives of everyone they met, family said.
"This is a great loss to our family as we depended on their support and relied on their love," one family member told Channel 9.
Huntersville police Maj. Barry Graham told Channel 9's Paul Boyd it's one of the worst accidents that he's ever come across. A fire department official said he couldn't guess which direction the vehicles were coming from because the force of the impact was so significant.
