CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The two suspects accused of murdering a Charlotte Uber driver will be extradited to Charlotte.

The two men, Diontray Adams and James Stevens, waived extradition during a court hearing Friday. For more than a month, they've been fighting to stay in Maryland.

Detectives said officers in Maryland found the two men driving a stolen car last month. Investigators had been searching for that car after Marlo Medina-Chevez disappeared.

The 44-year-old father was driving for Uber to earn extra money for a family vacation. Four days later, police found his body bound and badly beaten in a Rock Hill field.

While investigators are not discussing why Medina-Chevez was targeted, they said the suspects stole his credit card, along with his car.
Both Adams and Stevens are charged with robbery, kidnapping and murder.
