2.5 magnitude quake felt near Blowing Rock

BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — If you live near Boone, you may have felt an earthquake Thursday.

Several people told our partners at goblueridge.net that they felt the rumble shortly before 1:30 p.m.

The USGS reported a 2.5 magnitude quake that hit about two-and-a-half miles northeast of Blowing Rock.

No damage was reported.
