NEWTON, N.C. — Firefighters had to battle flames and smoke after a 3-alarm fire broke out at a Catawba County business overnight.
Fire crews arrived at the Newton Auto Spa on Northwest Boulevard around 5:30 a.m. and reported heavy smoke pouring from the back corner of the building.

It took firefighters less than an hour to get the fire under control.
Nobody was hurt and investigators are still trying to determine how the fire started.
