CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Detectives have charged Michael Moore, 18, Demontravis Reid, 18, and Rodney Rodriguez Reid, 19, in connection with a shooting that occurred in the North Division.
On March 30 around 1:22 a.m., officers responding to a call found five victims that had been shot in the 4300 block on Sunset Road. The five were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Detectives identified three suspects they said were responsible for the shooting and obtained warrants for their arrests.
Detectives immediately requested the assistance from the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team in locating the wanted suspects.
Earlier this morning, VCAT located and arrested the three suspects without incident. The suspects were then transported to police headquarters where they will be interviewed by Homicide/ADW detectives.
Upon completion of the interviews, all three suspects will be charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill infliction serious injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and three counts of shooting in to an occupied vehicle.
In addition, Demontravis Reid and Rodney Reid will also be charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The suspects will then be transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
