• 3 injured in crash on East Independence Blvd.


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - East Independence Boulevard reopened late Tuesday morning after a serious accident shut one lane down and sent three people to the hospital.

    Emergency crews worked to rescue people who were pinned inside a flipped car. It took 17 firefighters to remove them from the car.

    All three people were taken to Presbyterian Hospital. Two had potentially life-threatening injuries.
