3 men accused of Walmart parking lot shooting in court Monday

BELMONT — Three people charged in a shooting outside a busy Walmart in Gaston County on Friday will make their first court appearances Monday.

Police say Malik Moore and Wesley Perkins were in the parking lot of the Belmont store to buy jewelry from Matthew Ollis.

Ollis says Moore and Perkins tried to steal the jewelry and drove away in a Jeep.

Police say Ollis fired at the car. Ollis has been charged with discharge into occupied property, while Moore and Perkins have been charged with larceny.

All three men were arrested.
