3 new rabies cases bring total to 12 in Iredell Co.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Animal control officers in Iredell County said they have seen three new cases of rabies.

The new cases bring the total number of cases in the county to 12 this year.

The Statesville Record and Landmark reported the newest cases involved a skunk on Pisgah Road in Statesville, a raccoon on Roundstone Road in Troutman and a gray tabby cat on New Salem Road in Statesville.

Animal control officers remind residents to keep pets up to date on their vaccines.
