3 workers hurt at North Carolina State University

RALEIGH, N.C. — (AP) Three construction workers have been hurt at North Carolina State University after a platform collapsed.

The workers were helping a crane operator lift a steel beam when the eight foot platform they stood on collapsed Wednesday afternoon.

They fell about eight feet to the ground.

A school spokesman said none of the injuries was life-threatening. One person suffered a back injury, another had a leg injury and the third person had a head injury.

The Occupational Safety Health Administration will investigate.
