SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. - A 4-year-old is in critical condition, fighting for his life, after an attempted home break-in.
The incident happened Saturday night in Sampson County, which is just west of Fayetteville.
Deputies said a man tried to break into the home through the child's bedroom, but when he couldn't get in he fired a gun, which then hit the young child.
Deputies said the man took off in a getaway car and that they are still working to track him down.
