CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was taken to hospital after nearly drowning Friday night near Abernathy Road in Charlotte, according to Mecklenburg EMS Agency officials.
Emergency officials were called out to the 12000 block of Abernathy Road near Mountain Island Lake.
Officers said 4-year-old boy was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with life-threatening injuries.
Friends and family members told Channel 9 the boy is still in critical condition there.
