48 firefighters stop fire from destroying apartment complex

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It took 48 firefighters to stop a fire from destroying a southwest Charlotte apartment complex.

Volunteers from the American Red Cross responded to the fire at Oak Park Apartments on Dinadan Drive off Nations Ford Road in southwest Charlotte.

The fire damaged 10 apartments of which two were vacant and three suffered heavy damage, according to a news release from the Red Cross. The Red Cross is assisting at least seven families that were displaced as a result of the fire.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the scene. No one was hurt and firefighters were able to put out the flames pretty fast.
