5 hurt as NC school bus, tractor trailer collide

CLAYTON, N.C. — (AP) Officials say five students and a bus driver have been hurt after a school bus and a tractor-trailer rig collided in Johnston County.

The wreck happened around 7 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 70 near Clayton.

The bus was carrying a dozen students to Smithfield Middle School.

The injured students were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The rest of the students were taken to school.

The wreck is still under investigation.
