5 injured in crash involving ambulance in Gaston Co.

STANLEY, N.C. —

Five people were taken to a hospital after a wreck involving an ambulance, according to the Spencer Mountain Fire Department.

The accident happened around 3:50 p.m. Monday at 200 Stanly-Spencer Mt. Road in Stanley.
 
Officials said the ambulance was headed to a call when the wreck happened. According to a release from Gaston County EMS, the other vehicle involved may have been maneuvering around a moped when the accident occurred.

The ambulance and a car collided. Five people were injured. One person from the car was in critical condition.
