Six South Carolina National Guard units are deploying to Kosovo this weekend.
They will be gone for a year, helping in the peace-keeping mission there.
The 500 members will join soldiers from nine other states.
According to the Herald in Rock Hill, National Guard members from Rock Hill will deploy to training and then to Afghanistan.
