CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Nine handguns and two stolen bulletproof vests were recovered from a vehicle after a chase Friday morning in Chester County, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said.
Troopers pulled over a 2005 Chrysler that was driving 91 mph in a 70-mph zone at 6:35 a.m. on Interstate 77 north near mile marker 68.
The Chrysler then fled and a pursuit ensued.
Troopers performed a rolling roadblock near mile marker 77 when the driver of the fleeing vehicle tried to get away and struck two patrol cars.
Troopers used batons to smash the windows to get to the suspects.
Three people, all from Charlotte, were taken into custody.
Elontrae Ali Glenn, 23, was charged with failure to stop for blue lights and sirens.
Charges are pending for the two occupants, Morgan Nicole Fowler and Santario Demarcus Washington.
