LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Roughly 2,000 people in Lancaster County were without power on Friday morning, and are expected to be in the dark for hours.
Officials said Buford Elementary, Middle and High schools are canceled Friday due to the power outage.
Duke Energy said its equipment was damaged in the area along Pageland Highway, between Potter Road and Shiloh Unity Road, as well as along Rocky River Road almost to the state line.

Duke Energy estimates that the power may not be restored until 3 p.m.
