Action 9: Man fed up with cellphone provider after it owed him $200

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man said he was fed up with his cellphone provider when he said it did not honor a promise that it had made.

He said that Sprint owed him close to $200.

Chris McCollough said he's place more than 20 phone calls to his cellphone carrier trying to get them to make good on their promise.

McCollough claims that Sprint sent him an email in September offering a $175 credit if he renewed his two -year contract, so he did.

"But they never did abide by the offer and I have proof that they sent it to me on my Kindle Fire," said McCollough.

McCollough said he got fed up with the way Sprint treated him when he called about the credit.

"They hung up on me, they talked to me any kind of way," he said, "It makes me feel like I want to go to another carrier, but I like Sprint so much I want to stick with them, you know," said McCollough.

McCollough came to Action 9 to see if we could get Sprint to honor its offer.

A spokesman said, "...the mistake was ours and shouldn't have happened." The spokesman said their team spoke to McCollough and straightened out the mistake by applying the $175 credit to his bill. They also offered him the hot new Samsung Galaxy 3 phone for $40.

McCollough said it "makes me feel great. Thanks to you guys."
