LENOIR, N.C. — An Amber Alert was canceled after a Lenoir mother and her 1-year-old daughter were found safe in Mocksville, North Carolina Wednesday night.
The Lenoir Police Department said Rylee Watson and her mother Tiffany Primm were abducted by 31-year-old Zachary Scott Watson.
Officers said Watson abducted the pair at gunpoint in the middle of Jason Place in Lenoir around 5 p.m.
Primm's mother called 911 to report the abduction and said the trio drove off in a black Toyota Tundra.
Authorities learned that Watson may be in the Mocksville area and a short time later police spotted the truck at a gas station near Interstate 40.
When officers approached the truck, Watson ran off. Police found Primm and her daughter in the vehicle unharmed.
Around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police said Watson was found and arrested. He was transported to the Lenoir Police Department where he will be charged.
Investigators said Primm and Watson were involved in a past relationship.
