HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — A missing 3-year-old North Carolina girl has been found safe, her family said on Wednesday.
The Harnett County sheriff said Zy'Rah Nicole Holliday was found in an abandoned trailer. Authorities had spent nearly 24 hours searching for the little girl.
The sheriff said she was found after a tip from an anonymous family member. He said that Zy'Rah is a little dehydrated but doing OK.
Daquan Thomas is accused of abducting her which forced officials to issue an Amber Alert.
He was taken into custody Wednesday morning. He is charged with child abuse and abduction, but more charges are pending. He faced a judge Wednesday. He remains in jail under a $200,000 bond.
Investigators said Thomas, the boyfriend of the little girl's mother, snatched the toddler and her 11-month-old brother from their Harnett County home while their mother was gone.
Deputies found the boy at a relative’s home and Thomas was arrested nearby.
Investigators said the mother had just filed a restraining order against Thomas on Monday.
