Ambulance T-boned taking patient to hospital in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C. — An ambulance was t-boned Sunday at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard and Faith Road in Salisbury while transporting a patient to the hospital, police said.

The wreck happened at 1:40 p.m. when a vehicle struck an ambulance headed toward Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

An emergency medical services student on board the ambulance received minor injuries and the patient was injured in the crash, police said.

Investigators said it appeared the vehicle ran a red light, but that is still being investigated.
