CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

According to an airline industry analyst, a major airline merger may not be good for Charlotte.

U.S. Airways, which has it's largest hub in the Queen City, has been courting American since it filed for bankruptcy last year.

U.S. Air insisted a merger would benefit Charlotte flyers with about 50 more flights, but one analyst said it could lead to higher ticket prices.

The analyst also told Channel 9 he believes any domestic routes coming from American won't be significant.
