Arrest made after shooting in Statesville, police say

STATESVILLE, N.C. — A man was shot and another was arrested Thursday afternoon in Statesville.

David Gamble, 36, was shot in the leg before police responded around 3:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Ora Drive.

Obryan Tyquawn Glaspy, 30, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Statesville police said they found Glaspy on Stockton Street a short time after the shooting.

Gamble is being treated at Baptist Hospital in Statesville.

Police are investigating the shooting.
