CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested dozens of people after the protests about the officer-involved shooting of Keith Scott that turned violent on Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Later this month, Ian Bowzer will also be in court. He was charged with damaging property after police said video showed him smashing the glass doors at the Hyatt House Wednesday night.

Police also arrested three people for damaging the Buffalo Wild Wings in uptown.

Officers charged Marcellis McKenzie, Shakiyla Green and Jayden Harrington with felony breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.

Authorities said the group used rocks and bottles to break the windows and shatter televisions.
Surveillance video was key to identifying the suspects and making the arrests, investigators said.
On Saturday night, police arrested Khalil Wallace, a man accused of assaulting an officer with a wrench and damaging a police car during Thursday’s protests.

Officers also arrested Daniel Caleb Santos-Romero, O’Neal Garmonyou Willie and Javarious Qashawn McIlwain on Saturday.
Santos-Romero is charged with impeding traffic and possession homemade weapon. Willie is charged with urinate in public and possession marijuana. McIlwain is charged with disorderly conduct and curfew violation.
CMPD said officers have secured warrants for Dana Denena, wanted in connection with a break-in at the Epicentre, and for Terrence Terrell, who is accused of breaking into a car.
