Asheville Tea Party raffling off 2 semi-automatic guns

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Asheville Tea Party is sparking outrage by raffling off two semi-automatic guns, including a high-powered assault rifle.

The group said the raffle was planned before the shooting rampage in Connecticut and the chairwoman insists banning guns will not stop violence.

Critics said it is too soon and should be canceled.

The Tea Party chairwoman said the winner will have to undergo an FBI background check before taking home the guns.
