Authorities: Missing Mass. girl found safe in Shelby

SHELBY, N.C. — The mother and child from Friday's AMBER Alert out of Fitchburg, Mass. were found safe in Shelby, N.C., according to Massachusetts state police.

Police in Massachusetts were searching for the 6-year-old girl who they said was taken by her biological mother.

An Amber Alert was issued for Alize Whipple, who was last seen Wednesday in Fitchburg, Mass., getting on the school bus to go home.

At the time of the alert, police said they believed that Alize was with her mother Leeanna Wilson, 50, who does not have custody of the little girl.
