LINCOLNTON, N.C. - Firefighters spent nearly an hour putting out a house fire in Lincolnton overnight.
Investigators said the fire at the home on Shady Lane started in the garage area around 3:30 a.m.
The homeowner said his barking dogs woke him up, and when he went outside to investigate he saw the fire.
Firefighters said he and his wife and two dogs that were inside the house escaped with no injuries but that two dogs that had been outside were hurt.
Investigators have not yet determined how the fire started.
