BELMONT, N.C. - Cleanup at Belmont's waste water treatment plant is now complete after chemicals were found inside its sewer system a week ago.
Channel 9 was told workers finished the job Sunday, but police are still looking for who's responsible.
Last Monday, a staff member found chemicals dumped in a grease trap near an Arby's during a routine inspection.
Tests confirmed several fuels were found including ethanol.
Belmont leaders are still investigating whether this case could be connected to two illegal dumping cases in Charlotte earlier this month.
