NORTH CAROLINA —

North Carolina leaders want to honor U.S. Forestry Officer Jason Crisp, who lost his life during a manhunt last month. Crisp and his K-9, Maros, were shot and killed by Troy Whisnant.

U.S. Representative Mark Meadows and the North Carolina House Delegation introduced a bill to designate a ranger station in Nebo as the Jason Crisp Forest Service Building.

Meadows said he worked on the bill with Crisp’s widow, Amanda.
