Billy Graham shows support for Chick-fil-A

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Car after car pulled up to a Chick-fil-A Thursday night, not just to "Eat-Mor-Chikin," but to make a statement.

"We were on a road trip and we had to stop, figured let's eat at Chick-fil-A and give them our support," said Wayne Thomas.

He told us he completely backed comments made by Chick-fil-A President and COO Dan Cathy. Those same statements have made the chicken chain a target of gay rights groups and politicians across the country.

Cathy has said that he believed in the "biblical definition of marriage" and not same-sex marriage.

"He said, 'Hey, this is what I believe.' It doesn't mean the stores do any discrimination. That serve everyone," said Thomas.

Rev. Billy Graham said he'd pick up a serving of Chick-Fil-A as well, in a show of support for Cathy during Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day next Wednesday, Aug. 1.

In a statement, Graham said, "I appreciate the Cathy family's public support for God's definition of marriage. As the son of a dairy farmer who milked many a cow, I plan to 'Eat Mor Chikin' and show my support by visiting Chick-fil-A next Wednesday."
