BMX World Championships ride into Rock Hill

People from all over the globe flocked to Rock Hill on Saturday for the kickoff of the BMX World Championships.
The Fountain Park event is expected to have a major impact on the local economy.
Organizers said that more than 3,000 professional and amateur athletes will be coming for the event, along with thousands of spectators.
This is the first time in 16 years the championships have been held in the U.S.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster said that bringing the event to Rock Hill is just one example of the state's economy getting a big boost.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — “We're just going straight to the top,” McMaster said. “We've been discovered by big companies, international companies, you've read about them. They all want to come here. There are more on the way.”

Events are happening all week, leading to the championship next Saturday.
