Bobcats playoff tickets go on sale

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For only the second time in the 10-year history of the team, the Charlotte Bobcats are headed to the playoffs.

The first and only playoff appearance came in 2010 when they were swept in the first round by the Orlando Magic.

The Bobcats (39-38) have made significant improvements since last season when they finished 21-61.  The team finished 7-59 in the lockout-shortened 2011-12 season.

Tickets went on sale for Bobcats playoff games Monday morning.  Fans can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster outlets.

The games haven't been scheduled because the playoff field has not been set yet, so the Bobcats' first-round opponent is still unknown. They'll be scheduled once the regular season is over next week.  The playoffs start on April 19.

The Bobcats clinched their spot in the playoffs Saturday night when they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in overtime.

The team will host at least two home playoff games.
