SALISBURY, N.C. - Police said a body was found in the woods off of Stokes Ferry Road in Salisbury,
N.C., on Oct. 24.
The body has been identified as Bryan Eugene Merrill, 25, who had been living near the crime scene on Wyatt's Grove Church Road.
Merill was found sitting on the ground with a belt wrapped around his neck. The belt was also tied to a branch of a pine tree and according to
investigators, the body had appeared to had been there for sometime.
Merill is believed to have died in early January 2012. Foul play was not a factor in Merill's
death, police said.
