GASTONIA, N.C. - Four men are being called heroes after crews say they saved a man who was trapped in a burning truck.
The Gastonia Fire Department said Matt Hudson, Michael Ewing, Eric Crane and Steve Hardy pulled over to help when they realized the man was trapped after running off of Kendrick Road.
They used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames and pulled the man out of the back window of his truck seconds before the fire re-ignited.
The driver of the truck was taken to Caromont Regional Hospital.
