Cam Newton spreads holiday cheer to kids during ‘Santa Cam' tour

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers star quarterback Cam Newton gave out gifts to area schools Tuesday afternoon.

Channel 9’s sports anchor Phil Orban rode along with Newton during the Santa Cam tour.

Newton’s first stop was at the Barringer Learning Center during a school assembly where he dropped off backpacks full of supplies and a $30,000 check.

Santa Cam arrived Bethlehem Center later in the day and handed out gifts and goodies to the students.

"That's something that never gets old, and you know, for me, and my foundation, we want to have that type of connection with everyone, not only with kids," Newton said.
