HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A driver managed to escape their car on their own after it crashed Saturday morning into a traffic camera pole in Huntersville, according to firefighters.

Emergency crews were called to the southbound ramp on I-77 to I-485.
Fire crews said there was heavy fog in the area, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash.
The driver was taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries has not been released.
